Nucleus is the core of database driven websites provided by CISMedia. Nucleus is modelled on the Joomla content management system but refined to meet the specific needs of our customers:
Nucleus aims to provide significant control over website content without providing an overwhelming number of options. It is structured around familiar concepts of sections and pages and hopes to encourage and develop web skills rather than intimidate and bemuse.

In addition to providing the core content management software Nucleus includes:
Core access control features enable site management tasks to be shared without giving full access to all administration features to all users. Editing of content from the public site is also available where a user is logged in and has appropriate user rights.
Coding Standards
Nucleus is configured to produce HTML which complies with XHTML 1.0 and Priority 2 (AA) Accessibility. CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) are used for tableless layout in line with current best practice in website design.
System Requirements
Nucleus requires PHP 4.2 or above and MySQL 4.0 or above. The system is installed manually by CISMedia and can be configured for previous versions of PHP/MySQL where an upgrade of the server software is not an option.
Javascript used is cross browser compliant and installations are tested in major browsers.
Open Source
The Nucleus system is open source and uses a range of open source PHP resources.
