Trading as CISMedia I have been providing website and communications services on a freelance basis since 2002. My background is in the voluntary and public sectors. Whilst small to medium sized charities are my main customers I have worked with a number of small businesses.

My Customers

Over the years I have worked with a number of Councils for Voluntary Service in London including: Barking and Dagenham, Brent, Ealing, Greenwich, Redbridge, Richmond and Sutton. I have also worked with Local Involvement Networks (LINks) in Barking and Dagenham, Newham, Redbridge, Richmond and Sutton. In addition I have worked with a wide range of charitable and community organisations.

I have provided projects for public sector bodies including the Institute of Education at the Univeristy of London, and Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex.

I have provided several websites for small businesses and social enterprises, examples include, Simon Education, Layne Marlow and David Lucas.

My Background

Prior to setting out as a full time sole trader in 2003 I had worked for the housing service of the London Borough of Waltham Forest for 10 years, as Principal Community Development Officer I provided a lead role in community involvement. I had an interest in the practical side of communications - desk top publishing and media relations from experience as a community activist and later an employee in the voluntary sector. At LBWF I was using MS Access to support contact management and developing an interest in using the internet for community engagement.

My Approach

I aim to provide a flexible, cost-effective and budget conscious service. I enjoy challenges and finding creative solutions. Completing projects on time and on budget is important to me - I agree a fixed price at the start of a project and stick to it.

Where appropropriate I buy in support or work with other small businesses but in general I provide the bulk of project work directly.
